My Trip to Singapore

Let’s just admit it already! Foreign trips and visits are the most amazing ones in our lives, not only do we get to visit new places but also taste a foreign culture, see their lifestyle and also enjoy conversing in a new language. My trip to Singapore had been replete with all these experiences.

Singapore in its essence is a well-developed city. Right from the roads – that are both clean and green to the metro train systems and shuttle bus services, their transport system is something that awed me galore. The city can get hot and humid at times but the trees running parallel across both the sides of the roads come to definite aid here. The roads here have less traffic, something that I truly loved about their transportation system. My 5 days stay at the city had been very convenient. These are certain things you must look into if you are planning your own tour, as transportation is something that can be costly and cost you way over the budget.

Let’s start the Singapore City tour now, shall we?

Day 1

We reached the City around 9 AM in the morning after which we checked in Hotel Ramada. On a personal note I’d like to say that the hotel was truly worth it, we had a great time there. After our lunch at a nearby mall we visited 2 gardens on our way back; Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.

  • Flower Dome

This garden has a gigantic air-conditioned greenhouse that offers visitors the view of various exotic plants in themed gardens all over the place. As per the Guinness Book of World Record 2015, this spectacular and innovative greenhouse is the largest in the world. Be ready to be amazed by the changing display of flowers and plants right from the Mediterranean to the Semi-arid regions.

  • Cloud Forest

This one holds a lush green vegetation of the tropical highlands and a tall waterfall that legit soars high above. This place is good for a short naturist retrieve. Planning places to visit in advance helps you save a good amount of time later for other things.

About my dress:

I paired a multi-colored maxi dress that I had purchased from Myntra with a set of multi-colored necklaces which were gifted to me by my Mother. As I mentioned earlier that the temperature can get humid, let’s say dressing smart is the best way to tour around the city.

Day 2

We had planned to cover the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari on the second day of our visit.

  • Singapore Zoo

Set amidst a rainforest environment, this Zoo offers the visitors with the world-famous ‘Open Concept’ along with the beatific opportunity to explore and be inspired by the wonders of the nature.

  • Night Safari

It is the next part of the zoo visit where one can enjoy and experience the after-dark adventure with the wonderful creatures of the night. Today was all about being adventurous and embracing the wild side of life.

About my style:

I paired a camouflage-print top that I purchased from Myntra with your regular casual-fit shorts from H&M.

Day 3

On day 3 we decided to do something adventurous too and hence booked ourselves the River Safari at the Singapore Zoo. After finishing that we went on for a shopping spree at a nearby Indian shopping mall.

  • River Safari: We had spent an amazing time at the Singapore River Safari on an engaging boat ride that allows you to enjoy the marvels and beauty of aquatic nature and wildlife. It was so thrilling over here!

About my dress:

I decided to pair a Charcoal Grey Solid A-Line Dress from Myntra with hoop earrings and a beaded necklace, courtesy of my sister per se. Dressing to the occasion.

Day 4

This day was reserved for the famous Universal Studio amusement park. As I am not a fan of thrilling rides we decided to skip those and opted for the ones which looked fun. After these we went to the nearby Sea Aquarium followed by the Marina Bay to watch the famous spectra-light show which according to me is a must-watch given the marvellous view it provides.

  • Also, the decorations at the Universal Studios Singapore were more attractive given the Christmas decorations. Also, be ready to explore over 100k marine animals and 1000+ species in 50 different habitats if you plan on visiting the S.E.A. Aquarium.
  • Spectra, the light-show is a free-to-public outdoor light and water show, it displays the magnificent waterworks along the Event Plaza promenade. This water show is about a story that is supported by music, advanced lasers, fountain jets and visual projectors. No wonder if you watch it for the first time or the hundredth, it doesn’t matter as it always tends to charm you. You can watch the entire piece here.

About my outfit:

As we planned to cover various places in a single day, I decided to pair up a casual grey top with regular fit shorts.

Day 5

As we had explored quite the adventures part of the city on Day 3 and 4 we decided to take a break on the final day and rest inside the hotel itself. Also, we had a flight on the same day making it the best option to stay in. This is where we enjoyed the hotel and amenities we paid for.

In conclusion:

The entire trip was wonderful to say the least. If you are planning on a budget friendly trip abroad then Singapore might as well be your best option. All you need to do is plan properly before booking yourself a vacation.

On our part, we, my husband and I decided not to take help from tour services or things like that, let’s just say that it was the wisest decision we ever made as we were able to save more than a lakh by planning and figuring things out on our own.

This concludes my visit to Singapore; share your trips memories or ideas and plans with me in the comment section below.
