A dash of, a pinch of, a drop of and all such measures wouldn’t do Justice when describing Jennifer Winget; A handful of and even a Gallon and Ton of would fall short too. To avid TV buffs, Jenni’s name would rank among the 5 best working ladies’ in the industry and it wouldn’t be a surprise if many would list her right at the top.
Playing the role of Tanu in Raja Ko Raani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya to her present avatar as Maya Mehrotra in the series Beyhadh, a sense of high maturity and talent oozes at every fame she is present in. So how has her journey been?
The Child Artist:
Being one among the three kids in the movie Raja Ko Raani Se Pyaaar Ho Gaya, Jenni stepped into the acting world. Though not a prominent role, her skills were easily distinguishable. Pulling off emotions was literally a child’s play to her.
We later on enjoyed her presence, now as a bit more gown up character in her debut TV show – Shakalaka BoomBoom. A matured act, a bit more of essence into the character of Piya, Jenniifer Winget really did entertain us with her role.
Apart from the above two roles, a minor role playing Tanu in the movie Kuch Naa Kaho too is another addition to her child roles.
A Step Further in her career:
Portraying Sneha Bajaj in the TV Series Kasautii Zindagii Kay is what made heads turn. The effortless acting she displayed garnered wide attention and from which point on she refused to step back. She stole our hearts repeatedly with her acting and beauty. The crowd never got enough of her despite the shows which followed.
Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, Sangam, Kahin To Hoga & Karthika are some of the shows in which Jennifer has played a prominent role.
Thrusters Full On:
Saraswatichandra – A tell tale that revolves around the characters Saraswatichandra played by Gautam Rode and Kumud played by Jennifer Winget. A well defined plot, a steady production and direction and most of all the potential of the cast involved is what made this series a remarkable one. Kumud being the centre of the plot, Jennifer portrayed her best and which in return showered her with awards and nominations.
Though the series ended in a year, her performance in it redefined what small screen actors should possess.
And a rare break followed this series after which one could only say that her return as Maya Mehrotra in Beyhad is a full on explosion. She came back with a bang and her acting skills were as sharp as a butcher’s knife. How we wish she never goes off screen!!!
Her minor child roles were the only ones seen on the big screen with a prominent theatrical release as the adult roles haven’t seen a greater reach.
Though a great reception for the movie Phir Se…’s trailer was witnessed, the movie failed to hit the theaters due to an infringement case.
Jennifer came across Karan Singh Grover in the sets of Kasautii Zindagii Kay; and after a long dating life the couple finally tied the knot in the year 2012. Like said, ‘Matches are made in Heaven’ and at times they aren’t perfect. The couple later separated in November 2014.
Despite the media rushed in declaring the marriage to be a failed one, Jennifer disagreed saying it to be a worthwhile mistake that taught her a lot about herself and the near and dear ones. She though hasn’t lost hope on love, assured that when a man that clutches her heart does appear, she would gladly embrace marriage again.
Her acting prowess isn’t something that needs any more justification. From head to toe, she displays what being a star of the silver screen is and we do hope to see her in the larger screen too. With all chips on the table, she would have the high rollers run for their money.
